TBBA Tournament Rules (2009)
1. Boundaries are to be conformed to.
2. No fishing in posted waters (This includes posted marinas and docks).
3. No fishing within 50 yards of a gas pump (station).
4. Participants must wear life jackets when engine is running.
5. Every boat must have a kill switch. (Over 40HP)
6. Every boat must have working live wells.
7. You cannot go closer than 50 feet to any anchored boat.
8. You must obey all other boating rules.
9. You must get your tag on the morning of the tournament and return it
when you weigh in.
10. Every person under age 16 must be with an adult.
11. No live bait or prepared bait is permitted (except pork rind).
12. There is a five fish limit and a minimum size limit of 12 inches.
13. There is a 1/4 pound penalty for every dead fish weighed in.
14. Contestants who are late checking in at the weigh-in will be docked a
1/2 pound per minute penalty. After 15 minutes, you will be
disqualified.
15. Decisions of Judges, Tournament Directors and Officials are
final and not subject to appeal.
16. No trolling or downriggers allowed.
17. If a fish is weighed in less than 12 inches in length that fish is
disqualified and a 1lb penalty is applied.
18. Smallmouth and largemouth bass only.
19. A dead fish is not eligible to win the big fish award.
20. Use of radios and cell phones restricted to emergencies only.
21. Unethical conduct will not be tolerated.
22. You must fish at least two of the three qualifiers with the same
partner to qualify for the TBBA Classic.
23. Anglers are only allowed to fish one rod at a time during a
Tournament no matter where the tournament is held.
